The Joseph T. Simpson Public Library announced that it will offer a Summer Reading Program for Teens, age 11-18, which will run from June 14 to Aug. 2.
Teens are encouraged to register for the program beginning June 1 by filling out a registration online at www.simpsonlibrary.org. Each teen will receive a brochure that lists the special weekly teen programs. During the week of Aug. 6-12, participating teens can turn in their reading logs for a prize bag and paperback book of their choice.
This summer’s theme is “Creatures of the Night” and focuses on animals and creatures that would be out at night.
Some of the events, which will be held in the Lower Level Meeting Room, include movie nights, craft nights, a mystery dinner and information on nocturnal animals, staying safe at night and amigurumi, the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small animals or creatures.
