Part of a nationwide Library Tour, children’s author Floyd Stokes will visit the John Graham Library on Thursday, June 7, at 6 p.m.
To celebrate Stokes’ arrival, the library will host a Family Fun Night, which will consist of meeting the author, book sale and signing as well as door prizes. His visit is meant to encourage children to read and discuss the process of writing and creating books.
The author of eight books, Stokes is part of the year round Super Reader Program.
For more 10 years, Stokes has visited several schools, libraries and Head Start centers to read to children at other community locations. He travels across many states to stress that reading is important to young children.
Stokes has written The Old Lady That Lives In A Shoe, Bullying Is Bad, I Can Do It By Myself, Popcorn Popcorn, My Glasses, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Teddy, The Hungry Little Bear and Say Ahh! The Teeth Book.
