I'm starting a new feature on the blog this week called "Monday morning kudos."
There are so many great events sponsored by so many great organizations in the area, I'd love to highlight some of them to say thanks for providing some family fun.
I'd also like to preview upcoming events in the kudos as well, to help you plan out your summer.
Today we're going to start small with one kudo. It goes to the Simpson Public Library in Mechanicsburg.
For the second year, Simpson kicked off its kids summer reading program with a great festival providing free food, entertainment and fun to local residents.
All you had to do was sign up in advance and you got your fill of hot dogs, popcorn (served up by Mechanicsburg mayor Jack Ritter), lemonade, ice cream (donated by Dairy Queen) and cookies.
This year's bash was a little cooler than last year, and parking was easier to come by.
My kids (ages 7 and 3) had a great time, and we loaded up on books for their summer reading.
Do you know of an event or organization that deserves a kudo? Leave a note in the comments section, email me at cumberlandmommyblog@gmail.com or join the conversation on Facebook or Twitter.
