“Bugman” Ryan Bridge knows how bugs see in the dark and what they do at night, and will share the knowledge at this week’s Summer Reading Program presentation at Newville’s John Graham Library Friday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m.
Bridge has studied and worked with bugs for more than 30 years and uses live insects and arthropods (any animal with its skeleton on the outside) in his educational and entertaining “Mother Nature’s Night Life" program that’s geared for young minds.
A simple discussion of ecology and the importance of bugs anchors the program that also covers defense strategies employed by insects and basic anatomy.
Included is the opportunity to “pet” a bug or other critter.
Bridge works with the Pennsylvania 4-H organization, local school districts, state and county parks and The Boy/Girl Scouts of America.
