Temporary cards are good for only 30 days. You must visit your library to show your identification, complete your registration, and pick up your permanent card within 30 days.
Temporary Card Memberships let you:
For people under age 17, a parent or guardian's signature is required.
You will use your PIN to renew items, request items, and use the library's computer and Internet services.
Thus, children and teens may use all library materials and services, including filtered Internet access.
To help families with providing Internet supervision, parents have the option of blocking their child's library card from using Internet Computer Catalogs.
(Note: Children with blocked Internet access may still use the library's Computer Catalogs. These catalogs have restricted access to web sites listed in the library's catalog and reference databases purchased by the library system.)
Members of the military and their families living in Cumberland County are eligible for a library card with the same rights and privileges as any other Cumberland County resident.
Many library services are also available through the U.S. Military to soldiers and their families, including eBooks, Playaways, database access and more. Deployed members of the military should check with their Morale Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) services to learn what is available to them during deployment.
