Adult Events

Fredricksen continues to create programs to meet the educational and cultural interests of the area’s diverse population. Organizations partner with Fredricksen to present specialized programming such as plant clinics from the Master Gardeners of Penn State Cooperative Extension and live musical concerts sponsored by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society. The programs are as unique and varied as the patrons – from Da Vinci to Warhol; Ballroom Dancing to Digital Photography; Knitting to Ukrainian Easter Eggs; WWII, Gettysburg, and local history to Classic, Foreign, and Independent Film Series; Summer Concerts on the Lawn, Holiday, and Dance Performances to Murder Mystery Dinners. |

The Pollock Children’s Library offers a substantial number of programs for children and their parents or caregivers. Programs such as Library for Lunch or R.A.P. Book Discussion Group provide opportunities for children to express their feeling about a particular book. Lively story times, interactive animal and science shows, story-inspired crafts and family game and movie nights keep them coming back. Summer Reading Club registrations have increased steadily every year. Mission Transition, a kindergarten readiness program, and Parent/Child Workshops, introduce young minds to the library through play. |
