 Photography How to 'Make' Better Photographs
Wednesday, April 17, 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm (two sessions)
Would you like to create photographs that you would be proud to hang on your walls or give to your friends and relatives? Wouldn't it be nice to hear people say, "That's a really nice photo," or "I wish I could take pictures like that," or "Did you take that?" when you show them your photographs? This presentation will tell you what you need to do to get started on the road to creating more interesting photographs.  Instructor: Dennis Baker, Freelance Photographer and President of the West Shore Photography Club

El Emet Dance Ministries, through Reverence Studios of Mechanicsburg, invites you to attend the unique performance “TAKE HEART” and witness the transforming power of dance. Through original choreography and contemporary music, El Emet aims to bring life and awareness to relevant issues facing teens in today's world, from bullying to drug use, while sharing a message of hope for the world. Please join us in the Lower Level meeting room of the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library.

Audrey Hepburn sparkles as the daughter of the chauffeur to a wealthy family with two sons one of whom she has had a crush on for years. She returns from Paris and beguiles the younger brother David (William Holden), and soon captivates his older brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart), a slightly stuffy businessman. Linus is assigned to distract her while the family plans to have David marry an heiress. What started out as a diversion for Linus becomes something more. Call for title. Light refreshments will be served.

Brittney Sanders from Citizen’s Bank will present a program on Preventing an ID Theft Crisis. Learn about identity theft, how it occurs, how to prevent it, and what to do if you become a victim. This 30 minute seminar will provide you with all the information needed to protect yourself and your information from identity theft. Refreshments will be provided.

The members of the Westshore Toastmasters Club will present a power point program on how to “Improve your personal, professional and social life through Public Speaking.” For many people, public speaking is their most common fear. Conquer those fears and become more confident and competitive in all aspects of your life.

 iPad tablet Intro to Tablet Computing
Wednesday, May 15, 7:00 pm
Attendees will get an overview of the Apple iPad and Amazon Kindle Fire. We will look at the design of these devices and how they operate as opposed to a laptop; the advantages of each type of tablet and what to consider when purchasing one; and the Apple and Amazon App Stores and some of the more popular and useful apps. This session is designed to help attendees decide if a tablet might be right for them.  Presented by Bruce Gordon, Technology Coordinator from Mechanicsburg School District

 Book Earrings  How to Make Book Earrings and Paper Beads

Are you a bookworm and proud of it? Then come to Simpson to learn how to make book earrings! They are a great way to show off your interest and love for reading. The class will also discuss how to make paper beads, a creative way to make jewelry from decorative paper and old books.  Presented by Rebecca, a staff member and long-time crafter.

1st Tuesday of the Month, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
With our stressful lives, it’s important to take care of ourselves so that we can lead a long happy life. One way to ward off potential problems is to have your blood pressure checked regularly. Come to the Simpson Public Library on the 1st Tuesday of each month as trained representatives from Holy Spirit Hospital check your blood pressure for free on the main level of the library.
