Our new Book Dragons Club is your place to meetup with other teens who love to read and be creative. There will be a slate of programs under the banner of “Book Dragon Club” including writing programs, craftivism programs, open mic nights, social meetings, reading challenges, civic engagement and more all dedicated to celebrating teens and the Humanities.  These programs are sponsored by the PA Humanities Council. These programs are for teens ages 13-18. 

Book Keepers meets monthly to discuss the best of YA literature. Each month you will get a book to keep. Some months we will all read the same title, some months we will all read our own choice and share our reactions. This program is for teens ages 13-18. No registration required.   

6 pm - 7:30 pm in the Community Room

Meet up with other LEGO mega fans for free building and themed challenge builds. We supply all of the bricks – you bring your imagination! This program is for tweens ages 9-12. No registration necessary.

2- 3:30 PM in the Kunkel Creation Station

This is LEGO taken to the next level! We will be using LEGO SPIKE and Bric-Q Motion kits to build moving sets. This program is for tweens ages 9-12. Registration is required and begins May 1.

4:00 pm Kunkel Creation Station

Each month we will take on a new craft project. Bring your friends to hang out, grab a snack and get creative! August – cigar box upcycle. This program is for teens ages 13-18. Registration is required.

3:00 PM – 4:30 PM in the Community Room

Calling all Pokemon superfans! Meetup to play TCG or Pokemon Go and trade cards. We will have snacks, contests and other surprises. Whether you are just beginning your Pokemon journey or are a seasoned trainer you need to be here! Feel free to bring along your device including tablets, Switches and phones. This program is for Tweens and Teens ages 9-18. Parents may stay to play with their children. Adults without a child will not be admitted.

Our meetup group offers a chance for teens take the lead in developing humanities programming at the library and make meaningful connections. We will make a Craftivism project at each meeting. This program is for teens ages 13-18. No registration required.

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Kunkel Creation Station

Join us in the Kunkel Creation Station for a day of building! First, we will build a bridge to cross a gap. Then, we will reverse engineer a paper airplane launcher so that it hits a target (safely of course)! Children will work in groups of 3-4. Come sign up and learn fundamentals in design and teamworking with hands-on experience! Recommended ages 8-10; spots are limited. Registration Required.  

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Kunkel Creation Station

Join us in the Kunkel Creation Station as we take our Sphero programmable robots and work through obstacles! These little robots roll around and can be coded; if you’re familiar with Scratch, these are quite similar! Four groups will code their robots to beat the obstacles. The winning group wins a prize! Recommended ages 8-10. Sign up now! Spots are limited; registration required.
