Fredricksen Library has teamed up with Penn State Master Gardeners of Cumberland County to bring you a series of workshops about creating a garden while preserving a healthy environment. This month's topic is How to Make Your Property Watershed Friendly. Is your property watershed friendly? Natalie Marioni, Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Program Coordinator can help you determine where stormwater originates on your property, how it impacts local creeks and rivers, and the proper practices you could adopt to reduce runoff, conserve water and support wildlife. Properties that already have watershed friendly best practices, or are willing to install them, may qualify for recognition as a Certified Watershed Friendly Property! REGISTER

Join Maureen Cantwell, Penn State Master Gardener, to learn the basics of a backyard vegetable garden from planning the site and choosing the vegetables to the progression of planting, weeding, and harvesting. We will cover the basics and provide resources for assistance in planning. This is a great time to begin your garden adventure! $5.00 fee. REGISTER
