Shinrin-Yoku: A Nature Meditation Practice
1 pm, Outdoors in the Courtyard
This Japanese practice, known as forest bathing is a relaxation technique to destress, calm the mind, and improve well-being. Presenter Justin Ferko, a certified forest bathing guide, will lead the workshop that includes a closing tea ceremony. Participants should be prepared for being outdoors. Registration required. Embroidery Workshop
1 pm in the Community Room, Lower Level
Did you know that early embroidery can be traced back to 30,000 B.C.? Join the Susquehanna Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America and learn a little about the fascinating history of the craft as well as current trends. There’s also an opportunity for participants to try their hand at a stitch or two. Anyone with an interest can join in the fun, even if you’ve never stitched before! Kits are provided. Registration required.

Join us for our second annual Get Outdoors Challenge for all ages! Beginning June 1, register at fredricksen.beanstack.org, and then pick up a GO Cumberland booklet (one per family) at the library. The library is hosting its third annual auction this spring, and the auction site is up and running!
The online auction begins Saturday, April 29 at 8:00 p.m. and ends on Sunday, May 7 at 8:00 pm.
