Join us for Moving Forward, a book discussion series geared towards those who have suffered a loss or tragedy and could use an infusion of hope. In cooperation with Hospice of Central PA, we will be reading books focusing on the redemptive power of the human spirit. Join us this month as we discuss Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés book about “rich intercultural myths, fairy tales, folk tales, and stories, many from her own traditions, [written to] help women reconnect with the fierce, healthy, visionary attributes of this instinctual nature.” Find the book in our catalog. Ages 18 and older, please. Registration is required.

Join us as we discuss the Classics. This month we discuss Burnett’s story about the strengths needed to succeed as exhibited by Sara Crewe, a young rich girl who moved from India to live at a prestigious London boardinghouse. Registration is required. Ages 18+.

Crafters of any kind are invited to attend this informal monthly get-together in the lower level of the library to work on personal projects and share tips. Please enter using the ramp located by the back parking lot. No registration is needed.
This local craft group meets the second Wednesday of each month (generally) to work on individual projects, share tips and tricks, and learn new things.
Those who practice an type of craft - stamping, jewelry making, rug hooking, knitting, embroidery, etc.- are welcome to attend to work on your latest projects and enjoy the company of others!

Artist Alissa Kachel will be on-site at the Library to talk about her art on display at Art in the Stacks and meet other art appreciators and advocates. Join us and learn about what inspires Alissa and what goes into her art. Art in the Stacks is a monthly gallery series at the New Cumberland Public Library in partnership with the New Cumberland Collective. Each month will feature a new local artist exhibit in the library's gallery spaces.
