Get ready for an amazing line-up of performances during our 18th annual Summer Concert Series that will keep you moving and grooving all summer long. Let’s rock and bring the house down at the library like only Shea Quin & Friends can do! Bring your dancing shoes, wear your favorite concert t-shirt, and join us for a fun-filled night of music as they present 50 Years Gone – The Music of 1972! All concerts are free to the public. Popcorn and beverages will be sold during the events or you can bring your own refreshments with you! Make sure you bring a blanket or chairs to enjoy the music in the great outdoors. Concerts are held on the west lawn next to the lower parking lot. No registration necessary. Sponsored by the McCormick Family Foundation. (Rain or shine! This stunning group, named Baltimore's official steel drum band, are masters of the steel drum. Their vivacious tropical music rounds out a lively show for all ages! All concerts are free to the public. Beverages will be sold during the events or you can bring your own refreshments with you! Join us for Moving Forward, a book discussion series geared towards those who have suffered a loss or tragedy and could use an infusion of hope. In cooperation with Hospice of Central PA, we will be reading books focusing on the redemptive power of the human spirit. Helen Knott, a highly accomplished Indigenous woman, seems to have it all. But in her memoir, she offers a different perspective. In My Own Moccasins is an unflinching account of addiction, intergenerational trauma, and the wounds brought on by sexual violence. It is also the story of sisterhood, the power of ceremony, the love of family, and the possibility of redemption. With gripping moments of withdrawal, times of spiritual awareness, and historical insights going back to the signing of Treaty 8 by her great-great grandfather, Chief Bigfoot, her journey exposes the legacy of colonialism, while reclaiming her spirit.
