All Ages Reading Challenges

Fredricksen Library is happy to host our annual Summer Reading Program and Go Cumberland Challenge running June 1st - August 15th!  The entire family can sign up to track their reading minutes, visit trails at our local parks, win lots of prizes, and enjoy family events at our library.

Children participating in the summer reading challenge will have the opportunity to win weekly raffles on top of our All Ages GRAND PRIZES. All you need to do is enter our Summer Reading Challenge anytime between June 1 and June 15. You can double your chances by getting a new, or renew your old, library card. Stop by the library to enter the Grand Prize Raffle.

Monarch Butterflies 
Tuesday, July 7 at 6 PM

Each child attending with their grownup will decorate their own planter to take home a Milkweed plant (the essential host plant for Monarchs), empowering them to support butterfly conservation right at home. Registration required. 

Pa’s Curious Creatures: Cryptids
Thursday, July 30 at 6:30 PM on the Lawn 

As the fireflies begin to glow, step into the strange and wonderful world of Pennsylvania’s cryptids. Join folklorist Rissa Miller at twilight for a family-friendly evening of local legends. No registration necessary.

Language at the Library - Beginner Spanish

Peaceful Poses Yoga for Adults

Join Ann Fields, founder of Peaceful Poses Kids Yoga, for an adult slow flow yoga class. This class will explore yoga poses, breathing techniques and ways to deal with stress and anxiety. Ann’s 45-minute class is open to all levels and no experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle and yoga mat. Registration not required.

Fredricksen Writes is for writers of all experience levels who want to be critiqued and in exchange provide critiques for other writers.
