This program for kids entering Kindergarten in Fall 2024 will help prepare young learners to become school students! Parents & caregivers are expected to stay at the Library for the duration of the program but will not be involved in the class, to allow kids to practice being separated. Held inside the Children’s Room.

Come learn with our friends from the Whitaker Center! This action-packed Best of WOW program will engage and educate youngsters in different STEAM concepts. We will inspire creativity and curiosity by including activities from our favorite Whitaker on Wheels programs. These topics may include physics, dinosaurs, chromatography, and/or engineering design challenges!

Join us for a Christmas in July party! We'll play some games and make a craft, and everyone leaves with a gift! For children of all ages; under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration begins approximately two weeks before the program. REGISTER NOW

Summer Reading Kickoff

Kick off Summer with us as we bring back our Summer Reading Kickoff Party! The fun begins at 5 pm!  

5 pm – 8:30 pm: Fantastic Food Trucks (717 Taco, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, and Sarah’s Creamery), Awesome Activities including: Guessing Games for All Ages with spectacular prizes, Super Sidewalk Chalk, Terrific Teen Tie-Dye Tent, Top-notch Teen Prizes Wheel, Cool Coastal Crafts for Children, FREE popcorn and more!

7:00 pm – 8:30 pm: Start your summer with a bang! Our Summer Concerts on the Lawn are back and we’re thrilled to kick them off with our favorite steel drum band, Trinidad & Tobago Baltimore Steel Orchestra! Sponsored by the McCormick Family Foundation.

Super Reader Floyd Stokes

Join certified yoga instructor Ann Fields on the Library lawn for a story and yoga adventure! During this class, Miss Ann will introduce kids to a variety of yoga poses and incorporate them into a story. This experience will help kids develop balance, discipline and mindfulness while building their confidence and gross motor skills.

All participants should bring a yoga mat or beach towel, dress in comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Please also be prepared to sign a standard liability form before the class.
