Jesse the Reptile Guy brings learning to life with fifteen live snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocs. You'll meet reptiles from around the world, and a few from your own backyard! Seating is limited. Shall I compare thee to a summer's day at the library? 
Join us for a beautiful midsummer evening on the library lawn! Our folly will include excerpts from Midsummer Night's Dream, "open mic" sonnets, storytelling, and music. We will also have flowers, lights, fairies, crafts, and sweets! Bring your lawn blankets and enjoy a lovely evening of enchantment.

We are so excited to welcome, Ryan Bridge, “The Bug Man,” to Fredricksen Library! Ryan is a passionate entomologist and loves teaching people about insects while “keeping it fun and exciting.” He hosts a wide range of fun and educational programs using LIVE BUGS! This program gets both adults and kids up moving and dancing to the beat! Children get to learn about and play an authentic African djembe and play other West African instruments like the Talking Drum, Shekere, and Gourd Drum. The session ends with a dance and drum circle. Bring your little ones to play with our developmental toys and take part in special activities during the mornings. All ages welcome. These events are drop-in, do not require registration and run approximately from 10 am – 12 pm.

Thursdays: Our favorite Library Pups, Calvin & Hobbes, will be on site.

Wednesdays: Block Party - Miss Tabitha will roll out our special blocks and mats!

1 pm – 3 pm in the Community Room, Lower Level
Families with youth ages 6 -12 will plant a container with nectar and larval host plants to attract butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. The registration fee is $20.00 per youth, $10.00 for each additional youth in the same family. Each youth will create their own pollinator container. The registration fee covers all supplies and materials. Registration is limited to 20 youth. A parent or guardian is required to attend with the youth for the duration of the workshop.
