Kindergarten Prep Camp

Monday – Thursday, June 23 – 27, 9-10 AM OR 11 AM-12 PM in the Community Room 

Adventure begins at the library this summer with our free summer “mini” camps! Camps are designed around themes and include reading, discussion, hands-on activities, special library programs, and conclude with group lunchtime. Parents/Guardians are required to stay on the premises for all children under the age of 12. 

For children going into Kindergarten in Fall 2025. Choose one of the sessions 9:00-10:00 or 11:00-12:00. Children will get to practice important skills to help get ready for kindergarten. We will work on social, literacy, and math skills through books, crafts, and hands-on activities. 

Adults must accompany children during the event. Registration required.

Andrew’s Big Show is a one-man comedy, juggling, circus show that is fun for the whole family.  Andrew spent years in circuses and on cruise ships honing his crazy circus tricks and sense of humor, and now he’s bringing it to your local library!  Many folks return year after year to see Andrew’s Big Show. No registration required.

As part of the New Cumberland Earth & Arts Festival, we are learning about the Aurora Borealis from speaker Lou Thieblemont. Also known as the Northern Lights, this naturally-occurring light display in the night sky is the result of solar winds. In olden times, the ancients were mystified, and historical battles were even impacted by their appearance in the sky. You’ll also learn about some sites and apps that alert you to the likelihood of seeing an Aurora.
