Market Square Concerts Soundscape presentation "Stories and Sounds” features three beloved fairy tales: Three Little Pigs, Brementown Musicians and Adventures at Grannie’s (Little Red Riding Hood) with music by contemporary American composers Daniel Dorff, Kile Smith and Gwyneth Walker. This show introduces elementary school children to storytelling through music and theater. It features live performance by theater major students from CASA, Dr. Ai-Lin Hsieh, cello professor at Messiah University, and Peter Sirotin, Concertmaster of the Harrisburg Symphony & Director of Market Square Concerts. All ages welcome! No registration necessary.

History of Climate Science and Global Warming Since 1950

Join historian Justin Suran as we explore a brief history of climate science and global warming in an effort to explain how scientists arrived at a global scientific consensus that humans are rapidly changing the climate.

Justin Suran received his Ph.D. in History from UC Berkeley in 2003. For many years he taught history in California at the high school and college levels. Now a resident of Cumberland County, he enjoys spending time at Fredricksen Library and sharing his research.
