October 1 - 31 at the Children's Desk
We are celebrating teens in our library throughout October. Our scavenger hunt will take you all over the library and on a few stops in our community. Stop by the Children’s desk to pick up your scavenger hunt form, work at your own pace and then drop it off by October 31st for your chance to win some great prizes. This program is for teens ages 13-18
Teens Create Contest - September - October
Celebrate TeenTober with our Annual Teens Create Contest! This contest gives teens a chance to display their incredible creative skills to inspire our community. Submissions will be accepted in 5 categories: Short Story, Poetry, Painting/Illustration, Photography and Digitally Created Art. Submissions can be dropped off September 15- September 30 and will be exhibited October 1-31. Awards will be announced October 31. This program is for teens ages 13-18. Registration is required and you may submit in multiple categories.

Practice your interview skills with an HR professional! This 30-45 minute session will consist of a simulated interview for a position you are interested in and an evaluation offering strategies for improvement. Dress for the part, do your research and come practice your interview skills! Choose your time when you REGISTER.

Join our monthly roundtable discussion with other small, local business owners (less than 5 employees) to share valuable support and insight, considering the unique challenges that solopreneurs face! This roundtable meets the last Friday of the month in The Business & Career Center HUB, with a theme for each session. Please sign up for each session separately. REGISTER
Thursday, October 10, 6 – 7 PM in the BCC Classroom
In this workshop, designed for young adults but valuable to all, a presenter from First Commonwealth Bank will identify how credit cards differ from debit cards, discuss the different types of credit cards, summarize credit card key terminology and conditions and outline consumer protection laws, explain how to evaluate credit card offers, explain how to manage a credit card and demonstrate how to compute the debt-to-limit ratio. Come to our OPEN CLASSROOM sessions—The BCC Classroom will be staffed during these times with instructors on hand to offer assistance, answer questions and help you learn how to use workplace, small business or personal use tools efficiently.
