Join us as we discuss Hawkin’s memoir: “when her marriage fell apart, she felt lost, consumed by immeasurable pain and loss. . . . Hawkins relates her personal struggles alongside powerful stories of resilience from women she met while volunteering in her community and abroad.” Ages 18 +. The Friends of Fredricksen will hold Donation Station on the first Saturday of each month to accept donations of books and media for their Book & Media Sales. To drop off donations, please park in the lower parking lot off Walnut Street close or near the sidewalk. Donations of one box or less can be brought to the Reference Desk whenever the Library is open. Thank you for thinking of the Friends when you have extra books.

Join us for this month's discussion of a “a heartwarming story of two extraordinary women from two different eras who defy expectations to utilize their unique gift of seeing soul mates in the most unexpected places. Learn basic Spanish conversation in an informal and friendly setting. This immersive conversation workshop is a great way to acquire the fundamentals of a new language. No registration necessary.

Improve your basic computer skills. Use our laptops or bring your own! In this session, we will introduce the parts of the computer, identify and use essential keys on the keyboard, and work on mouse skills. Registration is required.

Need hands-on help with your smartphone, tablet, laptop or e-reader? Trying to download an app or program and getting stuck? Want to use free library media resources like eBooks and audiobooks from Libby? Sign up for a thirty-minute Device Advice session for in person assistance. Bring your personal tablet, laptop, smartphone, or e-reader with you. Make sure you have all passwords you might need during the session. Registration is required.

July 8-11, 9-10 AM OR 11 AM-12 PM- Kindergarten Prep (For children going into Kindergarten in Fall 2024) - Join us for kindergarten camp. Choose one of the sessions 9:00-10:00 or 11:00-12:00. Adults must accompany children during the event. Children will get to practice important skills to help get ready for kindergarten. We will work on social, literacy, and math skills through books, crafts, and hands-on activities. *Both weeks of Kindergarten Camp will have the same activities, please only attend one week.

Adventure begins at the library this summer with our free summer camps! Camps are designed around themes and include reading, discussion, hands-on activities, special library programs, and conclude with group lunchtime. Each morning, camper goers will meet in the children’s library before spending time outside.  

Families will need to provide a brown bag lunch, water bottle, and ensure their child has sunscreen applied as the children will be spending time outdoors weather permitting. Healthy vegetarian snacks will be provided. If your child has food allergies/sensitivities or has a special diet, please pack snacks for your child and notify our librarian programmers about food allergies/sensitivities/diet. 

Camps are limited to 15 individuals. A waitlist will be enabled. If you registered for a space your child can no longer keep, please cancel the reservation so another child on the waitlist can register. REGISTER
