Ages 6-12
Registration Required
Children interested in reading practice can sign up to read to a therapy animal. Caring Hearts Pet Therapy program seeks to improve a child’s reading and communication skills with the assistance of trained therapy animal teams. Children are encouraged to read, engage, and connect with the pet independently. Bring your favorite book or two to share with one of our animal friends.
2 pm, Kunkel Creation Station
Our mystery party will challenge you to solve a crime. Sounds easy? Not so fast. While solving the crime you’ll need to stay in an assigned character role, keep secrets, drop clues and watch the ticking clock! We’ll have light afternoon snacks and a dessert bar. This program is for tweens ages 9 - 12. Registration is required.

School-aged kids are invited to try their hand at basic coding by creating a candy cane which spells out their name in binary code. We will also share candy stories, trivia, and some real candy to take home.

Come to the Library and see what you can build with your creative ideas & engineering skills! We will have LEGOs, Magna-Tiles, wooden blocks, and other building materials available for free play, as well as some targeted challenges for builders who enjoy more structured projects.

This program is only for students in grades 6-12. No registration necessary!
Parents do not need to stay at the library. Teens will sign in and provide an emergency contact name and phone number.
