Caring Hearts Pet Therapy program seeks to improve a child’s reading and communication skills with the assistance of trained therapy animal teams. Children are encouraged to read, engage, and connect independently with the pet. Bring your favorite book or two to share with one of our animal friends.

Cozy Zoom Storytimes

Join us for a love-filled storytime series! We will share stories, songs & rhymes together. Storytime teaches social skills, listening comprehension, letter and number recognition, and vocabulary. We’ll have fun while building a foundation for reading success. Each family may pick up a scarf and shaky egg from the Children’s Desk which must be returned at the end of the session. In the event of unseasonably warm weather, we may elect to hold these storytimes outside!

Join the Women's Club of New Cumberland and Highland as they sponsor Santa's Secret Workshop in Foundation House. Children ages 3 & up who are willing to shop with a volunteer assistant have the opportunity to buy gifts for family members. Items are reasonably priced from $1.50 to $5.00 and are gift wrapped. Payment must be cash. Proceeds from the event go to support the New Cumberland Public Library.

Create a mini-greenhouse with a plastic glove and watch five different seeds sprout! This activity is part of Longwood Garden’s 2022 Community Read of We Planted A Tree. Kids will be able to learn and witness how seeds sprout into plants! Available while supplies last at the Children’s Desk starting Saturday, May 21.
