While your tweens may be busy reading school curriculum books, we hope they can kick back with some fun and world-expanding graphic novels featuring diverse characters! Participants will receive a copy of the book which must be returned, and will have a chance to discuss the book with peers. In honor of back-to-school season, this month's pick is New Kid by Jerry Craft. Registration required.

Enter our Annual Teen Creative Expression Contest. Submissions will be accepted in 5 categories: painting/illustration, photography, poetry, short story, and a new category--audio/visual. Submissions are accepted June 14 - July 26 and will be on display in the library and/or shared on the library's Facebook page in August. The best entry in each category will be chosen by a panel of judges and the winners will receive $50. You may enter once in each category. Winners will be announced in mid August! For teens ages 12 -18. Download the contest rules!

BAG SALE DAY! 2 BAGS FOR $10! The Friends of Fredricksen Book and Media Sale is back - and for a full week! Saturday, June 5 thru Friday, June 11. Children’s books will be available for sale upstairs in the atrium, and media/puzzles/adult & teen books will be sold in the lower level and Community room. Hours are 10 am - 6 pm
