Solar Eclipse 101

solar eclipse2 pm in the Community Room
Learn about the sun and the mechanics of the eclipse with Lou Thieblemont, Captain (ret.), TWA & American Airlines and resident astronomer for Viking Cruise Line. If the sky is clear, we’ll take a look through Lou’s special telescope, designed to look at the sun in the light produced by the hydrogen atom. No registration necessary.

Solidarity and Groundbreaking Endeavors

Speakers Katina Moten, Ed.D., Division Chief of Professional Education and Teacher Quality, PA Department of Education, & Barbara Thompson, retired Director of Multicultural Recruitment and Community Affairs, Penn State Harrisburg African American Sororities are active, lifelong members of the two major African American sororities, Zeta Phi Beta and Alpha Kappa Alpha. They will address gaps in women’s history by focusing on Black sororities, their key role historically and in the Harrisburg community today. This presentation is co-sponsored by the AAUW Harrisburg.
