Intro to Digital Photography

bcc 6pm in the BCC Classroom, Upper Level

Do you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera and aren't sure how to use it? Are you still taking photos using only the AUTOMATIC mode? If you answered yes, then this is the perfect class for you! Each class, taught by instructor & photographer, Michael Yatsko, will begin with an exploration of a new topic followed by some hands-on application of the technique or idea. Weekly assignments will also be given to reinforce what has been learned in class. During this class you will learn about the history of photography and cameras, the science behind how a DSLR camera works, the exposure triangle - aperture, shutter speed and ISO, many different composition techniques, lenses, and much, much more. In order to participate you need to have a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Ages 13+; Seating is limited and will be held in the Business & Career Center Classroom. Registration is required: $150 fee covers all six classes.

Health insurance premiums will be going up in 2026 — 19% on average for individual plans (for people who buy their own insurance) and 13% for small group plans (for small businesses). The Pennsylvania Insurance Department will host an educational session that explains:

•    How PID regulates the health insurance market
•    How to shop smart during Open Enrollment
•    What resources are available to help you save

"Babes in the Woods" Author Presention

Babes in the WoodsAuthor and historian David Smith will discuss they mystery surrounding the bodies of 3 young girls found near the Pine Grove Furnace more than 90 years ago that led to a national search for their identities and the circumstances surrounding their deaths. New details have recently become available. For ages 18+. No registration needed. You may enter the library lower level using the downhill ramp from the parking lot.

This presentation will include details found in police records just last year that were not available when the book ‘Babes in the Woods’ was written. There is an addendum to the original book now available to purchase.

This program is for adults aged 18 and up and no registration is necessary.

This program is held in the library lower level. You may enter this level directly from the rear parking lot using the downhill ramp.

Mosaic MontageMATERIALS FEE OF $20. Create a lovely mosiac of a maple leaf or a pumpkin using a variety of fall colors (you can choose the design and colors on the day of the program). A materials fee of $20 is due at the time of registration. To register, stop by the library or call (717) 486-3688. Space is limited! For ages 14+.
