This round table discussion will apply the Socratic Method to help delve into philosophical discussions and give you an opportunity to share your opinions in a neutral and respectful way without interruption. Each month the group will choose a philosophical issue and everyone attending will have the opportunity to learn and discuss with others in an open and respectful environment. What a great way to expand your mind and reach further with your thoughts! Ages 18 +. The group typically meets the second Monday of each month.

Join in this gathering of embroidery enthusiasts for an afternoon of working on your own project, sipping some tea (tea is provided, bring your own mug!) and chatting with others. Learn some needlework tips, tricks and trends in the craft of embroidery. Don’t have a current project? Just come and be inspired to start one!

Join Melissa Allis, a certified aging in place specialist as well as a certified fall prevention specialist, to learn where the red flags are in a home or with a loved one that could indicate that it’s time to make some home safety changes. From the simple addition of a shower chair to installing an elevator, learn some of the ways to maximize safety, independence, and peace of mind. Melissa, owner of the local business Safe Optimal Spaces, was an occupational therapist for 15 years.  She now helps guide families wishing to live safely in their homes while aging, navigating chronic disease, acute injuries and other life-altering diagnoses.

Join local author Michael H. Zang for an overview of his recently published WWII biography, Guest of Adolf: The War of SSG Ernest V. Focht, 805th Tank Destroyer Battalion.  Focht was a long time Central Pennsylvania resident until his passing in 2003.  Captured in North Africa in February 1943, Focht spent 27 months as a prisoner of war. Using wartime diaries and letters home, this book offers an insight into the 805th Tank Destroyer Battalion, and the experiences of prisoners of war. Michale Zang is a retired Elementary School Principal and U.S. Army Colonel.
