We’ll journey along storied rivers like the Danube, Rhine, and Seine, and the charming cities and villages along the way. You’ll learn what makes river cruising unique compared to ocean cruising and we’ll also share some practical tips.

The Big Bang Explained

How did the universe come into being, and how do we know what we know? Science journalist Robert Naeye will discuss the many great successes of the Big Bang Theory, and how it accounts for many of the observed features of our universe. Robert Naeye has been a science journalist for more than 30 years. He has served on the editorial staffs of Discover, Astronomy, Mercury, and Sky & Telescope magazines, the latter as editor in chief. He has written hundreds of articles and given science lectures all over the world. He has also worked for NASA and authored two books.

This Beekeeping 101 course is ideal if you wish to simply learn about the marvels of the honeybee or you have an interest in raising honeybees. In this five-week classroom course, learn honeybee safety, honeybee nutrition, honeybee biology, honeybee communication, principles of beekeeping, how to read a hive, and what you can do to help our pollinators. A detailed discussion led by Lou Thieblemont, Captain (ret.), TWA & American Airlines and resident astronomer for Viking Cruise Line, on the history of the Hubble Space Telescope. See how the greatest astronomical invention changed everything we knew about the universe. How the work of dedicated, hardworking women astronomers in the 1890’s gave us today’s knowledge & understanding of space but got little or no recognition. Edwin Hubble was able to build on the painstaking work of the women astronomers and give us the present understanding of our universe.

Dances of Universal Peace

Led by Yasmin Haut and musician friends, the Dances explore sacred phrases for many of the world’s great spiritual traditions combined with simple folk-dance movement.
