Small Meeting Room  

Join with fellow book lovers as we take a look at works from a period in a language or culture's history that was particularly creative and productive. You do not have to read the selection before the meeting date. 

September: An American Marriage by Tayari Jones (A featured selection from the NYT 100 Best Books of the 21st Century) Newlyweds Celestial and Roy, the living embodiment of the New South, are settling into the routine of their life together when Roy is sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. An insightful look into the lives of people who are bound and separated by forces beyond their control. There are several copies of this book within the library system.

Join us for an afternoon of board games, card games, games of skill and strategy. Fun for the entire family. The library has a stash of games to choose from or you are welcome to bring your own. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration necessary.

Join your fellow videophiles as we watch films available on Kanopy or on DVD in Fredricksen’s collection. Selections include films, TV shows and documentaries. Curious about the library’s free streaming service?  Head to the Reference Desk for information about Kanopy.

September: The Three Musketeers (2023; 121 minutes) D'Artagnan arrives in Paris trying to find his attackers after being left for dead, which leads him to a real war where the future of France is at stake. He aligns himself with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, three musketeers of the King.

In this workshop designed for those beginning their credit journey or looking to relearn and / or repair their credit knowledge and score, a presenter from First Commonwealth Bank will define creditworthiness, evaluate positive and negative types of credit, explain credit factors and risks and how credit scores work and how credit is damaged. 

10 AM – 12 PM, BCC Classroom

Come to our OPEN CLASSROOM sessions—The BCC Classroom will be staffed during these times with instructors on hand to offer assistance, answer questions and help you learn how to use workplace, small business or personal use tools efficiently.
