Friends of Fredricksen Annual Membership Meeting

The Friends of Fredricksen cordially invites all community members to attend the Friends annual membership meeting to learn more about the organization as well as hear a presentation on Climate Science Research by local educator, Justin Suran. The Friends of Fredricksen raises money in support of children’s, teen and adult programming, building projects, and staff and volunteer recognition programs for the Fredricksen Library.

Please consider becoming a member! Membership dues include exclusive Friends events, networking opportunities and ways to become engaged in the community by helping with the semi-annual book sales, book sorting, assisting with the annual basket raffle or serving as an officer or committee member. We welcome new volunteers!!

Friends of Fredricksen Annual Meeting and Featured Speaker

The Friends of Fredricksen Library will hold their annual meeting on January 17. This meeting is used to elect officers, approve the budget and recruit new members for the upcoming year. The Friends are excited to welcome Connie Doebele as the featured speaker that evening. Ms. Doebele will speak prior to the meeting.

Connie Doebele spent 25 years at C-SPA N television as a senior executive producer. She has produced the network's signature book program "Booknotes." In addition, she was the originating producer for C-SPAN's Book TV. Over the years, she also produced the network's morning show "Washington Journal" in addition to its international coverage and its programming about the Supreme Court. In 2011, she produced a documentary about the Library of Congress. In addition to her behind-the-scenes work, she was also the on-air interviewer for over 2,500 programs. Connie moved to Harrisburg in fall of 2021 after four years at Purdue University as the managing director of the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement.

Donation Station

The Friends of Fredricksen will hold Donation Station on the first Saturday of each month to accept donations of books and media for their Book & Media Sales. To drop off donations, please park in the lower parking lot off Walnut Street close or near the sidewalk. Donations of one box or less can be brought to the Reference Desk whenever the Library is open. Thank you for thinking of the Friends when you have extra books.
