In partnership with the Master Gardeners of Cumberland County, we will be offering a new gardening topic on the third Tuesday of each month. Popular plantswoman and naturalist Erica Jo Shaffer, owner of Wildly Crafted Woman, will talk about these floriferous stars of the summer garden. Learn about the many centuries-old Hydrangea species (including some native ones), along with new dwarf and repeat-blooming cultivars. She will also enlighten growers about the number one maintenance challenge – how and when you prune them. The registration fee is $5.00 and the registration deadline is Monday, August 15. Families with youth ages 6 -12 will plant a container with nectar and larval host plants to attract butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. The registration fee is $20.00 per youth, $10.00 for each additional youth in the same family. Each youth will create their own pollinator container. The registration fee covers all supplies and materials. Registration is limited to 20 youth. A parent or guardian is required to attend with the youth for the duration of the workshop.
