Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Russian are all available throughout each month. Some experience in the language is necessary. Our expert leaders will guide you through discussion, conversation and culture of your chosen language. The Daytime Academy is made possible by a grant from Harsco Corporation, honoring the memory of Derek C. Hathaway and his passion for life-long learning. No registration necessary.

Join us for Moving Forward, a book discussion series geared towards those who have suffered a loss or tragedy and could use an infusion of hope. In cooperation with Hospice of Central PA, we will be reading books focusing on the redemptive power of the human spirit. For February we chose Seeing Ghosts, an intimate and haunting portrait of grief and the search for meaning from a singular new talent as told through the prism of three generations of her Chinese American family. Ages 18 and older, please. Registration begins November 1.

January's choice is Just as I Am by Cicely Tyson. “I am a woman who has hurt as immeasurably as I have loved, a child of God divinely guided by His hand. And here in my ninth decade, I am a woman who, at long last, has something meaningful to say.” You must have read or listened to the book to attend. Ages 18 and older, please. Registration begins November 1.
