Sign up online to reserve a reading slot!
Children interested in reading practice can sign up to read to a therapy animal! Caring Hearts Pet Therapy program seeks to improve a child’s reading and communication skills with the assistance of trained therapy animal teams.

Children are encouraged to read, engage, and connect with the pet. Bring your favorite book or two to share with one of our animal friends. Registration for a 20-minute reading slot is required and space is limited. To keep everyone safe, including our dogs and volunteers, we are asking that participants please mask.

Summit Search & Rescue: Rescue Dog Demonstration

Join a certified K-9 handler and trusty K-9 bloodhound "detective" from Summit Search & Rescue on the Library's lawn for a search & rescue demonstration.

Summit Search and Rescue is a nonprofit agency providing bloodhounds to assist local agencies in the locating of missing individuals. Bloodhounds are recognized for their long, wrinkled faces and distinctive bark. But they are most prized for their ability to find what, or who, is lost. Learn how these amazing dogs help track missing people and bring them to safety!

Nature's Nursery: Stars of the Show!

Nature’s Nursery Center for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation Education is a non-profit organization that provides medical care to injured, orphaned or ailing wild animals. Nature’s Nursery Nature's Nursery has 30 permanent residents! Join the Library to meet some of their live animal ambassadors, learn how they came to live at the center, and why they cannot be released back into the wild.

Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link, password, and further instructions. To participate, you'll need a computer or mobile device with a microphone and optional camera.

Turtle Dance Music Tails & Tales Music, Bubble, and Comedy Show

Flap your wings, jump up and down like five little monkeys jumping on the bed and roar like a polar bear! This performance celebrates famous children's stories and songs about animals! The show will also celebrate biodiversity - the more wild our planet is the healthier it is! Kids will dance, sing, laugh, use their imaginations and connect with new friends.

Teachers of Nature: What’s Up With Your Tail?

Have you ever wondered why animals have tails and what they are used for? The answer is really interesting! Join zookeeper Cindi Cavallini and her live animals in this interactive virtual program to learn about the different uses that animals have for their tails and how they use them.
