On the last day of National Poetry Month, come read some fun poetry books with us and then try out several different kinds of poems that can be turned into art, including LEGO poetry!

Kids will get to strengthen their STEM skills while making a mini portable greenhouse with this fun take home activity! Plant some seeds and then watch as they grow in this unique hanging window garden! Available while supplies last.

Kids will get to strengthen their fine motor skills while making a beatuiful nature craft with this fun take home activity! Cut and paint recyled egg cartons to make a 3D tree. Available while supplies last.

Help us decorate our display case for the month of December! This month, participants are challenged to design a LEGO creation inspired by the classic children’s book, The Polar Express! The winner will receive a free LEGO set. Drop off your submission to the Children's Desk by Saturday, December 6th. 

Ages 6-12

Come celebrate Earth Day at the Library and create your dream garden – in a box! We will read a story about a garden and then provide all the materials you need to create your own miniature garden to take home. This program is supporting our Longwood Gardens Community Read partnership – each registrant will be entered to win a family admission pass to the gardens this summer!

2nd Floor Meeting Room

Come meet local author Angela Enos on the 2nd floor of the Library as she discusses her new book Under the Roof, a humorous and compelling must-read about an inquisitive character who is unraveling the mystery of who her neighbors really are until she gets under their roof and learns their life story.  There will be light refreshments, a short reading, and a fun mystery game, “Which Character Am I?”  Plus, a special appearance by character-come-to-life, “The Cat Lady,” who will be signing books.  Following the event, Angela Enos will be available for a meet-and-greet between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
