Adventure begins at the library this summer with our free summer “mini” camps! Camps are designed around themes and include reading, discussion, hands-on activities, special library programs, and conclude with group lunchtime. Parents/Guardians are required to stay on the premises for all children under the age of 12. 

Join us for Art Camp where you will learn about different artists and artistic styles. Activities will include looking at works by famous artists, replicating art by the artist, and creating our own art using their style.  

Registration required. Registration links will be posted one month prior to an event. You may also create a free Eventbrite account and follow Fredricksen Library. Eventbrite will inform you when Fredricksen Library opens registration for an event.

Each morning, camper goers will meet in the children’s library before spending time outside. Families will need to provide a snack, brown bag lunch, water bottle, and ensure their child has sunscreen applied as the children will be spending time outdoors weather permitting.  

Parents/Guardians are required to stay on the premises for all children under the age of 12. Registration required. Camps are limited to 15 individuals. A waitlist will be enabled. If you registered for a space your child can no longer keep, please cancel the reservation so another child on the waitlist can register.

Storytime is a beloved tradition that helps set the foundation for a joy of reading. Baby and toddler story time engages participants with fun, dynamic early learning activities with books, songs, and movement. For ages 0 - 2.  Registration not required.

For children going into Kindergarten in Fall 2025. Choose one of the sessions 9:00-10:00 or 11:00-12:00. Children will get to practice important skills to help get ready for kindergarten. We will work on social, literacy, and math skills through books, crafts, and hands-on activities. 

Adults must accompany children during the event. Registration required.

Our new Book Dragons Club is your place to meetup with other teens who love to read and be creative. There will be a slate of programs under the banner of “Book Dragon Club” including writing programs, craftivism programs, open mic nights, social meetings, reading challenges, civic engagement and more all dedicated to celebrating teens and the Humanities.  These programs are sponsored by the PA Humanities Council. These programs are for teens ages 13-18. 

We are publishing our first teen creators anthology! If you are a writer or artist you won’t want to miss this chance to share your creative talents with the Fredricksen community. This information session will answer all your questions about submissions and content.  This program is for teens ages 13-18.  No registration required   

6:00 pm in the Kunkel Creation Station

Our new Book Dragons Club is your place to meetup with other teens who love to read and be creative. There will be a slate of programs under the banner of “Book Dragon Club” including writing programs, craftivism programs, open mic nights, social meetings, reading challenges, civic engagement and more all dedicated to celebrating teens and the Humanities.  These programs are sponsored by the PA Humanities Council. Book Keepers meets monthly to discuss the best of YA literature. Each month you will get a book to keep. Some months we will all read the same title, some months we will all read our own choice and share our reactions. This program is for teens ages 13-18. No registration required.   

6 pm - 7:30 pm in the Community Room
Meet up with other LEGO mega fans for free building and themed challenge builds. We supply all of the bricks – you bring your imagination! This program is for tweens ages 9-12. No registration necessary.

2- 3:30 PM in the Kunkel Creation Station

This is LEGO taken to the next level! We will be using LEGO SPIKE and Bric-Q Motion kits to build moving sets. This program is for tweens ages 9-12. Registration is required and begins May 1.

Thursday, July 24, 6 – 8:00 PM in the Community Room 

Our Murder Mystery parties are a blast! You will receive a character profile prior to the event. Show up that night as your character, have some dinner, some fun, maybe win some prizes and try to figure out Who Dun It!  
Polly Abdool is hosting a totally tubular album release party for her friend, Debbie Gribson, at a posh VIP Beverly Hills club. Debbie Gribson is a top international pop idol who is releasing her new album, Eclectic Youth! She is simultaneously releasing a new fragrance line of the same name! The guest list is stock full of big name celebrity guests who will undoubtedly hit the scene in outrageous '80s fashion! You are on the guest list and have received your invitation. There are a few names on the guest list that you dread having to be around for the night, but you wouldn't mind the exposure. This is where your story begins.                    This program is for tweens ages 9-13. Registration is required and begins May 1.
