EXTRA! EXTRA!! Join our journalism club! This summer, teens and tweens can work together on a newspaper. Assignments will include interviewing staff and patrons, writing book and movie reviews, covering the 2024 Olympic Games, covering large library events like concerts and performers, writing about our garden and more. We will publish 3 issues of the newspaper (name to be decided at the first meeting). This program is for tweens ages 9 - 12. Registration is required.

Stop by to use our LEGOs, Snap Circuits, Turing Tumble Coding, board games and more. Children need to attend with a parent or caregiver. This is not a drop-off program.

Meet up with other LEGO mega fans for free building and themed challenge builds. We supply all of the bricks – you bring your imagination! This program is for tweens ages 9-12. Parents, caregivers and siblings may attend. Registration is required for summer sessions.

Theme: Murder at the Luau Party 

Our mystery party will challenge you to solve a crime. Sounds easy? Not so fast. While solving the crime you’ll need to stay in an assigned character role, keep secrets, drop clues and watch the ticking clock! This program is for tweens ages 9-12. Registration is required. 

 Sun City is a small town outside of Hollywood that is a celebrity vacation destination with beautiful beaches, excellent weather and wonderful resorts. Darby Cerulean, a local magician of Sun City, is hosting a to-die-for backyard luau party. Everybody in Sun City is talking about what an epic party this will be. Rumors have flown around the grapevine that Darby’s guest list might not be exclusively the crème de la crème of high society, but why should anybody question Darby’s motives? 

Darby promises that it will be a fun time in the sun with exciting party games, wonderful luau-inspired delicacies, and stimulating conversation. You have received your invitation, and it is time to pick out your most festive luau attire for the party. This is where your story begins.

The Air Weaver Super Terrific Happy Funtime Balloon Show of Pure and Complete Awesomeness! (Big Balloon Show for short) connects to kids and adults of all ages and brings together magic, balloon artistry, storytelling and tons of audience engagement for a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience.     Recommended Ages 0 –18. No registration required.  

Wednesday, July 24, 3 – 5:00 PM  Community Room  

We are bringing back our game systems and some great games. Stop by the play on Wii, Nintendo Game Cube and XBOX 360 on 3 screens. You can also bring along your own handheld gaming system and challenge friends to play. We will also have a few tables for board games, cards games and chess. This program is for tweens and teens ages 9-18.
