Kick off Summer with us at our Summer Reading Kickoff Party! The whole family is welcome!
We'll feature local food trucks, crafts for children’s and teens, and lots of bubbles and smiles. At 7 pm Trinidad & Tobago Baltimore Steel Orchestra will return to kick-off our Summer Concert Series on the Lawn. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a fun evening with Fredricksen!

Join an experienced art instructor to create a Mother’s Day themed collaborative painting. Moms or other caregivers should be prepared to participate in the project alongside their child.

A registered yoga instructor from Peaceful Poses Kids Yoga will be at the library to lead a gentle & fun kids yoga class! Please bring your own mat or towel to use and be prepared to sign a standard liability form. Held outdoors in dry weather above 65 degrees.

Did you know that fruit has DNA just like people do? Come be a scientist for the evening and discover how to extract DNA from strawberries and what it looks like. This program is in conjunction with the 2023 Longwood Gardens Community Read selection, Bring Me Some Apples and I’ll Make You a Pie: A Story about Edna Lewis by Robbin Gourley.

Throughout the summer, hike the chosen parks and trails in Cumberland County to find the secret codes to enter in Beanstack! Program runs thought August 15. See booklet for more details. This program developed by Jane Goodall is a youth service program which helps empower young people to become leaders who build a better world. The mission of the program is to foster respect and compassion for all living things, to promote understanding of all cultures and beliefs, and to inspire each individual to take action to make the world a better place for people, other animals, and the environment. Ages 5 - 8. Registration required.
