Makedo!
For ages 8-11
Makedo is a simple to use, open-ended system of tools used to build imaginative and useful creations from upcycled (repurposed) everyday cardboard. You’ll receive a kit, starter cardboard, and instructions to create your very own creature with tails & tales, as well as ideas for other projects. The tools are yours to keep and can be reused for more making! Registration is required and limited.

Bristlebots
For ages 8-11
Create your own zippy bot in minutes with this Grab & Go STEAM kit!
Bristlebots are a fun way to learn about basic engineering, motor, circuits, and principles of balance. Creating a bot is simple, just attach the parts to the tooth brush head and watch them go. You can experiment and change the way they move and behave by adjusting the balance and pipe cleaners. Registration is required and limited.

For families with children ages 3+
Use this link to watch Kitty Jones perform her one-woman show “Mother Nature.” The program combines improvisation, dance, and music where audience members are cast right into the show!

Kids can download this prop kit and have the items ready to complement the performance. 

Constellations
Week of June 14
For children ages 8-12
Explore the sky in your backyard with this grab & go STEAM kit all about stars and constellations. Registration is required and limited.

A fairy lives here outside on the Library grounds! New Cumberland Public Library will be participating in the 4th Annual Fairy Door Trail! Stop by the Library the week of June 14 and find our resident fairy’s door and name. Children who would like to make their very own fairy door can stop at the children’s desk in the Library and tell us the fairy’s name to pick up a fairy door to decorate and keep (while supplies last).

For families with children of all ages
Join us online for a family paint party! A simple, family-friendly painting project related to our summer Tails & Tales theme will be explained step-by-step by our art instructor. You’ll have your very own masterpiece in about 30 minutes! Space is limited and registration is required.

Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link, password, and further instructions. To participate, you'll need a computer or mobile device with a microphone and optional camera.

We are turning the Library’s sidewalks into a giant sidewalk chalk obstacle course. Come run, jump, skip, hop, balance, and stomp your way through the course! Stop in the Library after you finish and tell us the secret code for a prize!
