Help us decorate our display case for the month of February! Registrants will be able to submit a book they love and a reason why they love it to inspire other book lovers! Books will be returned to participants at the end of the month along with a special bookmark and personalized book recommendation from a librarian. Please submit your book and a note about why you love it to the Children's Desk by February 7th.

Leprechaun Trap LEGO Contest

Help us decorate our display case for the month of November! Registrants will be able to create a dinosaur of any kind out of LEGOs (no larger than 6x6 inches) and then library patrons will vote on their favorite! The winner will receive a free LEGO set. Drop-off at the Children's Desk between March 3rd-7th for your submission to be considered (must be registered).

Game Day for All!

Join us for an afternoon of board games, card games, games of skill and strategy. Fun for the entire family. The library has a stash of games to choose from or you are welcome to bring your own. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration necessary.

Family Paint & Pix!

Join us for a night of creativity and cinema. Kid's Paint Night will be followed by a drop in family movie. Kids are invited to participate in a movie-based guided painting before the family film starts. Registration required. Films will be rated G or PG.

Chess Club

Volunteers from the Harrisburg/West Shore Chess Club will be on hand to assist young chess players and match up competitors. Join us and have fun! Participants are asked to bring a chess set if possible, but not required. No registration required. Ages 5 - 13.

Join us to learn the art technique used by our featured artist of the month. Miss Kayla will teach the technique, then you get to create your own art using that method. Bring your own inspiration and ideas! Recommended ages 8 to 12.

The Nutcracker! A Fairy-Tale Adventure with Pennsylvania Ballet Academy

Saturday, November 9 at 1:30 PM in the Library Atrium 

Want to be in a fairy-tale? In this story-based movement class, you get to be part of the action! We'll skip and jump our way through the story of the Nutcracker and see dances performed by PBA. For boys and girls ages 3-8. Siblings welcome. Sneakers recommended. No Registration Required.

Calling all Pokemon Superfans! Meetup to play TCG or Pokemon Go. We will have Pokemon snacks, contests and other surprises.
