Philosophers’ Roundtable

This round table discussion will apply the Socratic Method to help delve into philosophical discussions and give you an opportunity to share your opinions in a neutral and respectful way without interruption. Each month the group will choose a philosophical issue and everyone attending will have the opportunity to learn and discuss with others in an open and respectful environment. Dances of Universal Peace

Sunday, September 8 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. in the Community Room  

Led by Yasmin Haut and musician friends, the Dances explore sacred phrases for many of the world’s great spiritual traditions combined with simple folk-dance movement. Gardening with Nature Series

Fredricksen Library has teamed up with Penn State Master Gardeners of Cumberland County to bring you a series of workshops about creating a garden while preserving a healthy environment. This month's topic is Stormwater Friendly Lawn Care. Learn five techniques to make your yard more water friendly including lawn downsizing, eliminating unnecessary grass fertilizer, mowing properly, minimizing soil compaction, and practicing perfect pest management. Learn how your yard can help reduce runoff, become better habitat, and improve water quality in the Susquehanna River. Presented by Andy Yencha, Water Resources Educator, Penn State Extension. $5.00 fee payable to Master Gardeners at the door.

Donation Station

The Friends of Fredricksen will hold Donation Station on the first Saturday of each month to accept donations of books and media for their Book & Media Sales. To drop off donations, please park in the lower parking lot off Walnut Street close or near the sidewalk. Donations of one box or less can be brought to the Reference Desk whenever the Library is open. Thank you for thinking of the Friends when you have extra books.

Embroiderer’s Stitch In

Evening Genealogy Club

Do you want to learn about different genealogical resources and try them out? Then Genealogy Club is for you! Each meeting will have a genealogical theme which we will discuss before we try out the resources related to the theme. During the meeting, you will have the opportunity to work on your research and bounce your family history questions off of other club members.
