Peaceful Poses Adult Yoga

Join Ann Fields, founder of Peaceful Poses Kids Yoga, for an adult slow flow yoga class. This class will explore yoga poses, breathing techniques and ways to deal with stress and anxiety. Ann’s 45-minute class is open to all levels and no experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle and yoga mat. Registration suggested, but not required.

Philosophers’ Roundtable

This round table discussion will apply the Socratic Method to help delve into philosophical discussions and give you an opportunity to share your opinions in a neutral and respectful way without interruption. Each month the group will choose a philosophical issue and everyone attending will have the opportunity to learn and discuss with others in an open and respectful environment. What a great way to expand your mind and reach further with your thoughts! Ages 18 +. The group typically meets the second Monday of each month.

Handicap Chess & Strategy Games

chess4:30 pm - 8:30 pm in the Small Meeting Room
Handicap chess allows players of different experience levels to play a competitive game of chess. The more experienced player will start the game with fewer pieces. The greater the difference in experience, the greater the amount of removed pieces. Players can play regular chess if they prefer. Participants are asked to bring a chess set, if possible, but it is not required to participate. Participants who want to expand their horizons are welcome to try other games of strategy. Beginners are welcome. Feel free to drop in when you can and leave when you need to. No registration required. Ages 14+

This round table discussion will give participants an opportunity to share their life lessons in an informal, neutral, and respectful way while enjoying a favorite beverage (BYO or stop by our Coffee Corner). Each month the group will consider one or more topics and everyone attending will have the opportunity to highlight their experience with others gathered around the table – it’s a great way to gain insights and expand your mind. Paragon of People's Music - Overview of the Greats

Earth & Arts Festival

Camouflaged background with cartoon opossum, text: "New Cumberland Earth & Arts Festival" Come to the Library on Sunday, April 27th for the Third Annual New Cumberland Earth & Arts Festival between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We will have an array of activities and programs for all ages inside the Library and around our grounds. Music & entertainment, food trucks, vendors selling Earth-friendly goods, a demo garden, and alpacas from Angie's Alpaca Paradise are just a few of the things you will enjoy. Inside the Library, we will offer children's story time, crafts and activities for kids and teens, and a presentation about the Northern Lights, as well as opportunities to find out more information about the Penn-Cumberland Garden Club and the Master Watershed Steward Program.
