Talking Tombstones

March 20; 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room 

In honor of women’s history month, hear the voices from beyond the graves of trail-blazing women. Share in the legazey of the first Black woman to receive an MBA from Wharton School of Business. Local actresses will share the struggles of women who fought the male hierarchy of the Catholic Church and the Cumberland County legal community. This program is sponsored by the AAUW. Come Fly with Me

March 16; 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room 

Part one: Find out how a large passenger aircraft works -- how the plane’s wing develops lift, how its flight controls steer the plane, how the various systems work & what the pilot is doing during the many phases of the flight.  

Part two: A flight - IN REAL TIME - in a Boeing 757, to a city of your choice. Folks will ride inside the cockpit of a modern jet transport and experience everything the pilot does during the flight. All aspects of navigation, weather, and air traffic control are explained using a state-of-the-art computer flight simulator. Every switch and instrument works like the real plane. Captain (ret.) Lou Thieblemont will facilitate this fascinating program on aviation.
