Some stories resonate with readers more than others, and these sessions will focus on deconstructing stories to see how and why they work and to understand what makes one more popular than another. 

Each class will open with a motivational quote, followed by a lesson and discussion, while allowing for at least an hour of writing time. Participants will need email access. Registration required.

Join us for an afternoon of board games, card games, games of skill and strategy. Fun for the entire family. The library has a stash of games to choose from or you are welcome to bring your own. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration necessary.

Fredricksen Reads: Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan

7 pm, Small Meeting Room/Zoom

The books we're reading are award winners (The Booker Prize) or have been featured in the public space as a good read. Join us as we discuss these literary gems. You are welcome to attend whether or not you have read or listened to the selection. Ages 18+. Books selected for Fredricksen Reads will be listed on the Fredricksen Library online events calendar.

During the weeks leading up to Christmas, a coal merchant and family man delivers an order to the local convent and makes a discovery forcing him to confront his past and the complicit silences of a town controlled by the church. Shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Registration required.

Practice your interview skills with an HR professional! This 30-45 minute session will consist of a simulated interview for a position you are interested in and an evaluation offering strategies for improvement. Dress for the part, do your research and come practice your interview skills!
