This craft fosters enthusiasm and curiosity for seasonal foods while strengthening kids’ fine motor skills to construct these unique autumnal table toppers. Children interested in reading practice can sign up to read to a therapy animal. Children are encouraged to read, engage, and connect with the pet. Bring your favorite book or two to share with one of our animal friends. Registration for a 20-minute reading slot is required and space is limited. 

Caring Hearts Pet Therapy program seeks to improve a child’s reading and communication skills with the assistance of trained therapy animal teams.

Each month we will showcase handpicked titles ideal for early readers alongside custom resources to help deepen children’s engagement with the books. This month’s pick is Dragons and Marshmallows by Asia Citro, the first book in the “Zoey and Sassafras” series which highlights child-led inquiry science.

Young readers will be introduced to the first book in a popular series to get them interested in reading more. Participants will receive a copy of the book which must be returned after the program.
