Come join us at this writers group that provides aspiring writers a forum for their literary work and feedback from their peers in a respectful and friendly environment. This is a chance for you to grow in your craft and help others improve in the art of writing. The group meets the first and third Monday of most months. If you have always wanted to learn the Italian language and to share this passion with people who live in this area, this is a great time to do it in the comfort and safety of your home and in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Italian for Beginners classes have successfully been offered in person at Fredricksen for more than 2 years by instructor Anna Maria Bertini Jones. The current situation has opened up the opportunity to explore online instruction options to make the learning experience even more effective and enjoyable. You will still be learning the basics of the Italian language through interactive online classes and group work, but it will also be possible to use a variety of online multimedia resources to develop basic conversation skills and get in touch with cultural topics like cuisine, art, movies, lifestyle, etc.

Classes are very easy to access. You will receive a Zoom link invitation; click on the link and you will be automatically directed to your classroom. During class time students will be learning and collaborating with the instructor’s help and direction. No specific technological skills are required. All you need is a computer/ laptop/tablet and a printer. Ages 16 and older. Cost: $100 for 10 classes. Students will be advised to also purchase a book online. Registration begins December 1 online, by phone, or in person at the library.

This class is designed for those who have already taken Italian for Beginners I or who have an equivalent knowledge. The course is divided into sessions of 10 classes each. The instructor, Anna Maria Bertini-Jones, is an Italian native teacher with extensive experience in teaching Italian in college courses and elective adult classes. If you are unsure if you would fit in the class, we will connect you with the instructor to determine what's right for you.
