Library for Lunch - Sept 2022

Bring your preschooler (ages 4+) to Library for Lunch! This award-winning program was designed to help your child get ready for school by enjoying some learning activities and practicing having lunch at "school." After storytime and learning activities, your child (with your help) will eat lunch at the library as well as go through the "lunch line" to pick up a drink and sweet treat. We'll even have play money so that they can practice paying for their lunch.

Children should bring a bagged lunch and the library will provide a sweet treat. This program is recommended for preschoolers ages 4 – 6, but younger and/or older siblings may attend. Please indicate number of attendees when registering. Registration required.

READ to Dogs

Specially trained dogs from K-PETs will be at the library to listen to children read aloud. This program is helpful to children who may be shy or reluctant to read aloud and will encourage them to practice reading independently. For budding readers, ages 6 - 12. Registration required.

Children's Summer Closing Party Aug 8 from 4 pm - 7 pm

Closing PartyNo registration is necessary! Children can drop in during party hours from 4 to 7 pm. There will be balloon animals, snacks, and crafts. Best of all, kids will “shop” for prizes earned by logging their reading and activities on Beanstack. (For those who can't attend the party, "shopping" will continue at the library during regular hours through August 22.) The library parking lot may be full. Your child’s imagination will come alive in this magical storytime through movement program based on The Sleeping Beauty brought to you by Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Through these classic tales, the beauty of dance is blended with the rich sounds of music and the joy of reading. Children will learn movement and pantomime from The Sleeping Beauty ballet so they may understand how the story is told on stage. Children will explore concepts designed to stimulate their creativity and imagination while inspiring a love for reading and the arts.
